USA Spain 2-0 Confederations Cup (Video)

The USA shocked the world and beat Spain 2-0 in the Confederations Cup.

Spain was ranked number one in the world at the time they were handed their loss. This will go down as one of the biggest international upsets in soccer history.

Jozy Altidore scored in the 27th minute while Clint Dempsey scored in the 74th for the U.S., and goalkeeper Tim Howard made eight saves for the team. Dempsey also received his second Man of the Match award.

Bob Bradley, coach of the U.S. soccer team had this to say:

“For us it’s a big night. The players all work hard. We constantly talk about reaching higher and trying to accomplish new things. Spain is a team that we have the greatest respect for. They are a super team. Their ability to play, pass and move. We knew it was a challenge, but we felt that we would have a chance and that we could win this game.”

This will be the first time the U.S. men have reached a major international final. The U.S. will play the winner of Thursday night’s semifinal match between Brazil and South Africa on Sunday.

If they play Brazil and win, that might be even more shocking!
