Snail Racing Championships

Ever heard of a slow race, well the snail racing championships have to be one on the slowest.

Over 300 feisty little snails will compete on a 13 inch track for the title of "Fastest Snail in the World". Anyone with a snail can enter the competition and a series of heats are held before the final.

The winner will receive a tankard full of lettuce. A snail named Archie completed the course in a world record time of two minutes.

The championships are held as part of the Congham Fete which raises funds for the town’s 13th Century St Andrews Church.
