Emmy Snubs and Surprises 2009
The 2009 Emmy Awards are full of snubs and surprises, they are definitely keeping things interesting this year. The 61st annual Emmy Award show will air on CBS at 8/7 cst on September 20. Check out some of the obscure nods, as well as some of the noticeable snubs below.
True Blood scored three overall nods, but was ignored in the acting, writing and directing categories.
Desperate Housewives only got two nominations.
Farrah Fawcett, who never won an acting Emmy, is up for Outstanding Nonfiction Special for helping produce Farrah’s Story.
David Letterman tied with Jon Stewart’s Daily Show receiving five nods, the most for a late-night talk show.
Hannah Montana, iCarly, and Wizards of Waverly Place are the nominees for Outstanding Children’s Program.
Ellen Pompeo, Patrick Dempsey, Katherine Heigl, and TR Knight were once again snubbed, and did not receive a nomination for Grey’s Anatomy.
Heroes, CSI, Battlestar Galactica were also left out.
ER which just ended after 15 seasons, only gained two nods.
